Synopsis

Kane Thorne arrives in New York carrying shrapnel wounds and a promise made to a dying Marine. His assignment is simple: marry Isabella Winters and protect her. But Isabella is no ordinary widow-to-be. She runs Winters Group and is fighting to keep her anti-cancer project, Golden Apple, out of the hands of Caesar Group, a medical giant that will stop at nothing to seize it.

Kane expects to be a bodyguard. Instead, he becomes a one-man army against bribes, moles, assassins, and bombs. As he clears every threat with brutal efficiency, Isabella and others begin to see that Kane is far more than a foul-mouthed drifter. But the deeper he goes, the more the Caesars want him dead, and the more the women around him refuse to let him disappear.
