Synopsis
Alan White leaves the Misty Mountains for Los Angeles carrying Merlin’s final request: he must marry Sophie Black, heir to the Black family. Before he can present the marriage contract, Alan saves Sophie from an Anderson family ambush. Their unexpected encounter leads to a night together, followed by Sophie leaving money and walking away. The next day, Alan appears at her door, forcing both of their concealed identities into the open.
Sophie wants to avoid a forced marriage to Arthur Anderson, so she enters an arrangement with Alan and presents him as her chauffeur. As the Andersons target her through intimidation, assassination attempts, and attacks on the Black Group, Alan endures ridicule while quietly using his magical abilities to protect her. Their practical agreement grows more complicated as Sophie begins to see the power he has kept hidden.
