Synopsis

Five years ago, Elf King Klaus set aside his crown to love an ordinary elf, Flora. When a forbidden fire curse left him near death, Flora gave half her life-heart to save him, a sacrifice that left her coughing, her years cut short, and bound to the Marrow of the Life Tree. Stella took the credit and framed Flora, who vanished after claiming she wanted wealth and power. Klaus believed it and hated her for five years, never learning she carried his child.

Now Flora scrapes by at a street stall with her five-year-old son Rowan and rescues an unconscious old elf who turns out to be the Queen Dowager. Klaus comes to her coldly, yet quietly helps her at every turn. As the schemes behind the fire unravel, so does the truth about who really saved him and who was cast aside.
