Synopsis
Lena has spent a year believing her secret marriage to Isaac is built on love. Instead, Isaac has treated the marriage as a way to meet a family requirement and secure an inheritance. When his debts leave her exposed to loan sharks, the calm she trusted collapses, forcing her to confront the cost of being used by the person closest to her.
During a storm, Lena—drugged and fighting to survive—manages to escape. Jack Kane, described as the West Coast’s most ruthless mafia godfather and the CEO of a multibillion-dollar empire, becomes her rescuer. Yet the danger does not end with her flight: Jack is also her father-in-law, and his intense interest in her creates a perilous conflict between Lena’s need for safety, Isaac’s betrayal, and the secrets surrounding her marriage.
