Synopsis

On a snowy night, Jessica rescues a dying stranger whose face is partly covered in black scales, and their single passionate encounter ends when he vanishes into the storm. She never learns that the man was the Blackscale Dragon King.

Months later, Jessica gives birth to a son, only for her gambling father to sell the infant to the black market, with a ransom of one million gold demanded for the child's return. Hearing that the Dragon King seeks a nanny for his infant heir, who has already burned twenty of them, Jessica enters the palace to earn the ransom. The cold king refuses to trust any human, and a noblewoman who wants him for herself works to push Jessica out. She arrives to save her son, unaware he is already within reach.
