Synopsis

After being acquired by Kaelen Ashfell through the Mate Auction, the unnamed heroine builds a life with him and gives birth to three hatchlings. For three years, their bond appears settled, until Kaelen’s first love returns. He removes the heroine’s name from his Bond Ledger, treating their shared life as something that can simply be undone. The return of the past turns her position within the family into a painful question of loyalty and belonging.

Kaelen then places the heroine and their babies with his brother, Roran, while his first love attacks what they have built. Their den and garden are destroyed, and one of the children is hurt. As Kaelen begins to regret abandoning them, the discarded mate faces a new choice: remain tied to the one who rejected her, or accept protection from someone else while seeking justice for the harm done.
