Synopsis
Lila is five when Harold and Karen Sinclair turn her into unpaid labor, making her clear snow by herself and giving her a loaf of bread that looks like refuse. They know about her unusual magical ability, yet treat it as another reason to control her. Their cruelty reaches a frightening point when they prepare to place her in a cardboard box and abandon her.
At that moment, Jonathan Blackwood, a kind billionaire, enters Lila’s life and offers the possibility of safety by taking her home and adopting her. In Jonathan’s household, her presence brings warmth, while her connection with Noah, Jonathan’s long-silent son, opens a path toward change. But Lila’s past remains tied to Harold and Karen, leaving her new family to confront the people who cast her aside and the secrets surrounding her extraordinary gift.
