Synopsis

For three years Ava endured a marriage in which Ethan repeatedly sided with Chloe, even when Chloe's actions put Ava in danger. The breaking point comes when Ethan pressures Ava into giving up her legal claim after Chloe nearly kills her, then forces her to donate a kidney. Seeing this as the last betrayal, Ava turns to General Walker, fakes her death and leaves her old life behind.

Ethan only grasps what he has lost once Ava is believed dead. He begins to uncover Chloe's wrongdoing and understands that he himself destroyed the woman he loved, while Ava starts over in a new town. The story follows her struggle to build a future and his descent into regret, with the question of whether the truth can ever reach her.
