Synopsis

For five years Inez kept her father, a four-star general, out of sight and gave her devotion to Lachlan. That arrangement ends when she discovers a prenup naming Sutton, a senator's daughter, and watches Lachlan move to protect Sutton first in a crash. Inez walks away and takes a post with the NSC.

There she crosses paths with Lucian Sinclair, and a new chapter opens. Sutton responds with a smear campaign, but it backfires; Inez brings the truth into the open, and both families collapse under it. Lachlan comes to her begging for mercy, and she turns him down, choosing to start again with Lucian.
