Synopsis
Leonis of Thrace once ruled the fighting pits as the God of the Arena, until his wife's murder drove him into hiding. Years later he lives quietly as a handyman at the gladiator training ground run by his son, who has no idea who he really is. He absorbs the scorn of those around him without a word, keeping his past buried.
When the training ground's team is threatened with dissolution, Leonis steps out of the shadows and joins them for the War Trials, a prestigious competition. His performance in the arena draws eyes he had hoped to avoid, and the identity he guarded so carefully begins to surface. Revenge and redemption pull at him as the son he never told the truth to fights beside him.
