Synopsis

After a public affair and a bitter divorce leave her with nothing, orphan Nina takes a job as a step-mother for hire for Mafia Don Leon Marconi. She wins over his young son Gio with a Spider-Man doll and signs a marriage contract. Leon's unexpected tenderness begins to ease her depression, though the arrangement was never meant to be real.

As Leon publicly names her his wife at a gala, the family of her cheating ex-husband Easton crumbles. Drug-addled Easton retaliates by kidnapping Nina and Gio. Leon drives him off, and the couple marry for real. But the revelation that Gio is actually his sister's son leaves Carmen's revenge still simmering as Nina gives birth to Dahlia.
