Synopsis

After a serious car accident, the heroine is taken to an emergency room, where a nurse tries to reach Cassian. Instead of offering concern, he sends back a chilling response, saying she is receiving the consequences she deserves. His absence is especially painful: he is away with his lover, leaving her to face the crisis without him.

The bitterness between them began with the Moonstone, a keepsake left by her late father. She would not surrender it to Cassian’s lover, and Cassian has turned that refusal into a personal punishment. Yet he does not understand the woman he is condemning. Hidden behind her vulnerable position is the truth of her Evenrose heritage: she is the bloodline’s last daughter and its rightful heir. As resentment gives way to reckoning, her concealed identity sets the stage for revenge and a reckoning Cassian may understand too late.
