Synopsis

Serena Reed learns that her husband, Caleb Whitmore, has been treating her pregnancy as a wager among his friends, staged for the amusement of Chloe Lane, the woman he has always shielded. The humiliation escalates: a forced paternity test, a fall down the stairs, and a threat to sell private photos at auction. At last she calls her parents and leaves.

Backed by her family, Serena sets out to answer every offense in kind. She brings Caleb's conduct into the open, dissolves the marriage, and stands by as the Whitmore empire comes apart. What remains is her own rebuilding, a woman less bound by the role of wife and far harder to deceive.
