Synopsis
Ryan Collins has carried a quiet crush on Carsen Blake, her best friend and a football prodigy, since childhood, never quite believing she measures up to him. When a naked, frantic Carsen turns up in her room hiding from his ex Lily Burke, the two are pushed into a night together that Ryan fears he will treat as an obligation rather than a choice. His confession the next day seems to answer everything she ever wanted.
Three weeks on, a positive pregnancy test upends that fragile happiness. Carsen is days away from NFL tryouts, a dream he has held since boyhood, and Ryan decides she cannot be the reason he stalls. Her solution is a kiss with another man staged squarely in his line of sight, a lie meant to free him that instead breaks their friendship and buries her secret.
Lily Burke, the cheerleader who envied Ryan from the start, is not done fighting for Carsen either.
