Synopsis

Her marriage offers little comfort: her Pureblood husband avoids her and sleeps in her stepsister’s wing. In response, she spends five thousand dollars on a damaged, partially sighted mongrel Orc found on a curb. Before the night ends, a bond mark appears on her throat, giving this unexpected arrangement a significance she never anticipated.

The following morning, three Highborn uncles arrive with a revelation. The Orc is the lost heir to the eight-hundred-million-dollar Drennan estate, while his scarred face reflects a cruelty inflicted by relatives who paid to disfigure him when he was eight. Now marital rejection, an unexpected bond and a powerful family secret collide. She must face the people who treated him as disposable while deciding what his place—and hers—will be among the Drennan family.
