Synopsis
Giulia Rizzo is twenty-one when her future is redirected into an unwanted engagement with Cassio Moretti, a feared crime lord. The arrangement places her beside a man she neither trusts nor chooses, with a significant age difference between them. Cassio’s reputation is shadowed by a rumor: that he caused the violent, premature death of his wife. Giulia is not only stepping into that woman’s place, but also facing the role of mother to Cassio’s two young children.
Rebellious and determined to remain independent, Giulia enters this new life with open resistance. Cassio, meanwhile, keeps his emotions firmly guarded, making genuine closeness difficult. Their relationship begins in conflict, but the marriage may force both of them to confront feelings neither expected. Giulia must discover whether she can build a life within Cassio’s world without losing herself—or becoming part of another unhappy union.
