Synopsis
Helena Garcia has a fortune in her future and a law degree in hand when betrayal comes from those closest to her. Catherine, a friend who is secretly her stepmother, and Maxim, her former fiancé, have been together for years; they shoot her father, take the Garcia wealth, and sell Helena at a dark-web auction. A stranger pays an astronomical price to buy her out.
That stranger passes as Tomas, a broke bodyguard at the Sao Paulo Hotel, but he is the Godfather behind the Latin American underworld. Helena once saved his life by chance during Rio Carnival, and he now hides her in a run-down apartment, posing as an ordinary man. Catherine allies with Hugo Germain, Tomas's enemy, and the schemes begin to strip away his disguise. Helena must weigh the lies and danger around her against what she and Tomas truly share.
