Synopsis

Claire Hayes loses everything when her marriage to Preston Hollis ends, leaving her without resources or a place to go. In desperation, she accepts an arrangement to become the contract wife of Rafael Moretti, the most feared Don in New York. His young son, who has stopped speaking to everyone, gradually begins to call her Mom, and Rafael finds himself drawn to her in ways he did not expect.

Just as Claire starts to find her footing in this new life, Preston reappears. He first begs for another chance, then resorts to threats, and eventually tries to have her killed. But by then, Claire is no longer the woman he cast aside. She has become Rafael's true wife and the Queen of the underworld, and the power she now holds changes everything.
